At Phoenix Childcare, we provide early years education and care for children in the Dublin 15 area. We facilitate school collections from Scoil Choilm National School.
We endeavour to ensure that each child attending our service is taught in a safe, positive, and encouraging environment. We ensure the promotion of children’s independence, encouraging their choices, and listening to and respecting the voice of each child. We do this by employing supportive staff who understand that every child is unique and learns in their own way.
Our staff aim to enhance each area of your child’s development through play and real-life experiences. We view all children as capable learners and provide them with a range of experiences and materials to learn important life skills. This is done through positive interactions with staff, peers, and people in the community.
Children’s welfare and parent’s peace of mind is paramount to us. We provide a warm, loving, home from home environment. An environment where each child is treated with respect and will learn at their own pace while feeling safe and secure.
According to Síolta, the national quality framework, it is essential that the environment provides a range of developmentally appropriate, challenging, diverse, creative, and enriching experiences for all children. By providing this in our setting, our setting becomes more than a just a place where children spend time being cared for; it becomes a place where their initiative is encouraged, their competence is nurtured, and their curiosity is awakened.
We have two large, bright, spacious rooms. We section our rooms into different interest areas such as:
The Home Corner is an area set up for role play. The children have numerous opportunities to work together, express their feelings, and use language to communicate roles and respond to one another's needs and requests.
The Cosy Corner is a place where children can relax and read a book and have some quiet time.
The Messy Play Area is a place where children have access to a range of sensory experiences.
The Creative Area is a place where children have access to a range of materials allowing them to unlock their creativity and create masterpieces!
The Construction Area is an area where children can challenge themselves using different types of construction materials. Construction play sparks creativity in children and helps develop their problem solving and mathematical skills.
